27th September 2023: Jet2.com and JetCityBreaks are celebrating the start of their biggest-ever Winter programme to Iceland after waving off their first flight of the season to the stunning destination from Leeds Bradford and Newcastle International Airports this morning (Wednesday, 27th September).
In yet more good news, the leading leisure airline and UK’s largest operator of European city breaks will also operate their first flights for Winter 23/24 from Birmingham and Manchester Airports tomorrow (Thursday, 28th September). Twice-weekly services will operate from these four airports in late September, October, November, February, March and April, offering customers plenty of choice and flexibility to visit this fascinating Nordic destination known for its mesmerising landscapes and culture-stuffed capital city.
As well as operating these scheduled services from Birmingham, Leeds Bradford, Manchester and Newcastle International Airports, Jet2.com and Jet2CityBreaks will also operate a programme of dedicated trips to Iceland from Belfast International, Bristol, Edinburgh, East Midlands, Glasgow and London Stansted Airports for Winter 23/24. Customers can choose from a wide selection of three-night or four-night trips, with trips taking place either in November or between February and March. The size and scale of the programme means the companies are operating their biggest ever programme of winter services and dedicated trips to the bucket list destination, with flights and city breaks on sale from ten of their UK airports this winter. The Winter 23/24 programme represents over 30,000 seats on sale and over 150 departing flights – a capacity increase of almost 40% compared to Winter 22/23.
All flights to Keflavík International Airport near Reykjavik will be operated by award-winning Jet2.com and the full programme is as follows:
- Scheduled services operating twice weekly (Wednesday and Sunday) from Newcastle International Airport (exclusive route) between September and November and from March to April.
- Scheduled services operating from Leeds Bradford Airport (exclusive route) and offering up to two weekly flights (Wednesday and Sunday) from 27th September to 29th October and from 27th March to 21st April.
- Scheduled services available from Birmingham and Manchester Airports, with up to two weekly flights (Monday and Thursday) from 28th September and 27th November and from 8th February to 22nd April.
- Belfast International Airport (exclusive route) – three trips in total (one three-night trip in November, one four-night trip in February and one three-night trip in March).
- Bristol Airport – three trips available overall (one four-night trip in November, one four-night trip in February and one three-night trip in March).
- Edinburgh Airport – three trips in total (one four-night trip in November, one three-night trip in February and one four-night trip in March). The November and February trips are perfectly timed for the October and February half-terms.
- East Midlands Airport (exclusive route) – five trips in total (one three-night trip in November, one four-night trip in November, one three-night trip in February, one three-night trip in March and one four-night trip in March). The three-night trips in November and February are perfectly timed for the October and February half-terms.
- Glasgow Airport – five trips in total (one three-night trip in November, one four-night trip in November, two four-night trips in February and one three-night trip in March). The first trip, taking place in February, is perfectly timed for the half-term.
- London Stansted Airport – two trips in total (one three-night trip in February and one four-night trip in March).
