UNPRECEDENTED demand has led to a series of sell-out events for a Lake District hotel group.

Family-run Lake District Hotels, which operates six hotels in the Lake District, has reported a surge in bookings for events during 2022, with ticket sales for events as far in advance as October.

One of the most popular events has proved to be a dinner and stargazing experience at The Inn on the Lake on the shores of Ullswater, which is being held as part of Cumbria’s Dark Skies Festival which runs until February 26.

The stargazing experience follows the sell-out Burns Night Supper at The Borrowdale Hotel near Keswick and a busy Christmas and New Year period across all the hotels. Two events in March –  a Jazz Lunch at The Inn on the Lake, and a Strictly Come Dying Murder Mystery evening at The Skiddaw Hotel in Keswick have also sold out.

Dani Hope, who is a Director of Lake District Hotels, said: “It’s been brilliant to be able to hold our events programme again, and we’re delighted that it is proving so popular.

“I think people are feeling more confident now about planning for the future, and ready to share experiences with family and friends.

“Our team works really hard to deliver a fantastic programme of events throughout the year, which is reflected in the quality and variety we offer.”

The Lake District locations of the hotels provide a scenic backdrop for the 2022 event programme.
