Colourful Conac 5Cognac is a particularly gastronomic hotspot in a land of gastronomy, but it is so much more than just that. With its vast agricultural / vinicultural scope, fabulous history, culture, and family activities the area is broadly undiscovered yet it offers endless things to do – and, after two years of non-travel, that precious feeling of ‘getting off the beaten track’….

Hotel Chais Monnet provides vintage 2CVs to explore the local vineyards and countryside, there is a quirkily brilliant gallery in Institut Remy Martin, stunning Charente rivers, and the white oaks that must be used to make the barrels in which the cognac matures.

The hotel is a beautifully-restored cognac trading house, with 92 elegantly-designed rooms and suites, spanning five acres with a rooftop terrace overlooking the beautiful old town. Guests can experience the best of regional French cuisine at the Michelin-starred restaurant Les Foudres or rejuvenate at the hotel spa with personalised treatments.

We would love to put Hotel Chais Monnet & Spa on your radar as a relatively unknown destination, easy to get to and packed with inspiring things to do. We hope that it might warrant a mention or roundup when you are thinking about travel content and we are always open to investigating opportunities to host at the property, depending on what coverage might be offered.

Nightly rates at Hotel Chais Monnet & Spa start from €260 per room, room only. www.chaismonnethotel.com/en/
