Located on the edge of Merrion Square, The Leinster emerges as Dublin’s first luxury lifestyle hotel. Adding to the excitement is the highly anticipated launch of Jean–Georges at The Leinster, a ground-breaking first for Ireland, proudly taking residence upon the hotel’s rooftop. The Leinster will be home to 55 bedrooms & suites, Jean-Georges’ rooftop restaurant, The Collins Club bar and supper club, a luxury boutique fitness experience from the experts behind POWER and The O’Dwyer Suite event space.
With a host of Dublin’s cultural offerings on its doorstep, including the National Museum of Ireland, MoLi, National Gallery of Ireland, Trinity College and the Oscar Wilde House, The Leinster has been thoughtfully designed to delight guests, offering somewhere new for locals to love and guests to discover. Some of Ireland’s most famed poets and literary figures frequented the Merrion Square area, from James Joyce to William B Yeats, making The Leinster the perfect destination for culture lovers to linger. Cited as a luxurious hideaway, the hotel will add vibrancy and intrigue to Merrion Square and offers the perfect city escape for those looking to explore and truly experience Dublin or catch a show or event at the nearby 3Arena, Bord Gáis Energy Theatre and Aviva Stadium.
Boasting a rooftop restaurant curated by the world-famous and acclaimed Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten and following in the footsteps of his restaurants in London, New York, Paris, Kyoto and more. Jean-Georges at The Leinster will be his first foray and footstep into Ireland.
Infused with Irish influence, Jean-Georges’ innovative culinary concept will see beloved Irish classics blended with fresh French and Southeast Asian flavours, deliciously crafted from local suppliers. Guests can indulge in imaginative menus artfully paired with an extensive selection of wines and cocktails curated by the hotel’s sommelier and head bartender.
With seating up to 140 guests and set against a backdrop of breathtaking views of Georgian Dublin and the Dublin mountains, Jean-Georges brings his signature cuisine to the city and will serve up breakfast, lunch, brunch, and dinner: ideal for relaxed daytime lunching to fancy evening dinners and celebrations.
The Leinster has been designed by Dublin-based architects ODAA and Henchion Reuter Architects & Interior Designers ODonnell ONeill Design to celebrate the heritage of its surrounding area. With a timeless aesthetic inspired by its existing architecture and location, The Leinster will bring much-needed life to this corner of Merrion Square, fusing old with new through bold modern patterns and tactile materials to create a multifaceted and sophisticated design with a contemporary touch. The design of The Leinster is instantly inviting but also alive with art and modernity.
Turning bedroom walls into canvases and the halls into galleries, each space at The Leinster has been beautifully marked by artists from Ireland and abroad. Exhibiting both up-and-coming and established talent, with pieces by Melissa O’Donnell (FKA O’Faherty), Paris-based Irish artist Colette Riet, Irish artist by way of LA Domino Whisker, Virginia-based Irish artist Stephen Dunne and much-loved friend of The Leinster, Damien Hirst.
Botanical in theme, there will be over 300 curated pieces of original painted art from more than 80 artists dotted around the hotel; the art collection at The Leinster is a dynamic reflection of Ireland’s exemplary contemporary art scene.
Above all, The Leinster will celebrate authentic Irish hospitality, immersing guests in local cultural and culinary experiences, always with a friendly welcome and a well-known Irish sense of humour.
