The Kent Edit at Claro A Celebration of the Garden of England 2

2 July 2026, London. This summer, Claro launches a two-month-long celebration of Kent’s finest seasonal produce, inviting guests to discover the renowned growers, makers and suppliers that have earned Kent its reputation as Britain’s agricultural heartland.

The Kent Edit at Claro

Running throughout July and August, the special menu will place Kent firmly at the centre of the dining experience, with Claro’s kitchen creating a series of dishes inspired by the county’s rich farming heritage and abundance of world-class ingredients.

Known as the Garden of England, Kent is home to some of the country’s most celebrated fruit growers, vineyards, farmers and artisan producers. The Kent Edit shines a spotlight on their exceptional harvest through Claro’s signature produce-led Mediterranean cooking.

The initiative reflects Claro’s longstanding philosophy of allowing the finest ingredients to lead the menu. Following an introduction to many of the county’s growers and makers through Macknade Food Hall in Faversham, one of Kent’s best-loved food destinations and the team’s first gateway into the region’s thriving food scene, Claro has since built close relationships across the county to create a menu that showcases the very best of the season.

Executive Chef Shadi Issawy said:

“The Kent Edit is a celebration of place, seasonality and the incredible people behind the ingredients. Kent has an extraordinary depth of producers, from coastal growers to small-scale artisans, and working with them has shaped a menu that feels rooted and alive. A key part of our journey into the county’s food scene began with Macknade Food Hall, which introduced us to many of the growers and makers who now sit at the heart of this menu. Our aim was to let the produce speak first, and to bring out its character through simple, precise cooking that reflects both Kent’s agricultural richness and Claro’s Mediterranean approach.”

The Menu

Throughout July and August, guests will discover a dedicated menu showcasing the very best of Kent’s seasonal ingredients, alongside collaborations with the county’s growers, makers and artisans, complemented by a curated selection of Kent-produced wines and specials.

Featured dishes from The Kent Edit include potato confit served with heritage Pink Fir, Red Arran and purple potatoes from Morghew Park Estate, paired with Bowyers Brie from Canterbury Cheese Makers and venison salami from Wilsons Provisions; lamb kebabs with Kentish apricots, freekeh and Foxes Honey vinaigrette; and a vibrant tomato and cherry salad with Ellie’s Goat’s Cheese, wild rocket and coriander sourced from across the county.

Desserts continue the showcase of Kent’s summer harvest, from a sweetcorn creation featuring corn from Lathcoats Farm to Cherries & Mahlab with fresh cherries from Mockbeggar Farm.

To complement the menu, Claro has curated a collection of Kent-produced still and sparkling wines, championing some of England’s leading vineyards. Guests can enjoy rosés from Biddenden Vineyards, Mudwall and Gusbourne, alongside acclaimed sparkling wines from Gusbourne, Herbert Hall and Domaine Evremond, creating pairings that showcase the outstanding quality of the Garden of England’s wine scene.

The People Behind the Menu

Key suppliers featured throughout the menu include Canterbury Cheese Makers, whose artisan cheeses appear across a number of dishes; Morghew Park Estate, supplying heritage potatoes and rapeseed oil; and Wilsons Provisions, producers of fennel and venison salamis.

Seasonal fruit and vegetables are sourced from growers including Mockbeggar Farm and Hugh Lowe Farms, while local artisans such as Foxes Honey, Kingcott Dairy and Karly’s Kitchen further showcase the depth and diversity of Kent’s thriving food landscape.

At Claro, menus evolve almost daily in response to what is freshest and in season, and The Kent Edit brings this approach to life through a celebration of the Garden of England. Showcasing seasonal flavours, growers, winemakers and artisans from across the county, the summer campaign reflects Claro’s commitment to creativity, collaboration and telling the stories behind the food, while highlighting how the best of British sits naturally alongside the restaurant’s Mediterranean influences.

By connecting guests with the people behind each dish, The Kent Edit offers a fresh perspective on the Garden of England through Claro’s modern Mediterranean cooking. It is the first of several regional showcases planned throughout the year, each celebrating the finest ingredients at their peak.

The Kent Edit at Claro runs from 2 July to 31 August 2026. Reservations for lunch and dinner can be made at claro-london.com.
